Join us for a beautiful autumn celebration as we begin our forever together.

Welcome

An invitation to celebrate

With full hearts, we invite you to be part of the beginning of our forever. It would mean the world to celebrate this day surrounded by the people we love most.

From a lakeside ceremony at Silver Harbour to an evening at the Valhalla Hotel, we’ve planned a day we’ll never forget.

As our day approaches, we hope this space helps you feel informed, relaxed, and excited to celebrate alongside us. Here, you’ll find everything you need—from the schedule and locations to travel details and what to expect.

When you’re ready, you’ll also be able to RSVP in just a few simple steps.

If you have any questions along the way, we’re always happy to help.

Our Story

From a simple beginning to a lakeside ‘I do’

Hannah and Daniel first met through mutual friends one fateful karaoke night in March 2022. It wasn’t until a couple weeks later, after partaking in some liquid courage at a St. Patrick’s Day party, Hannah asked Daniel out on their first date and they went to the Cascades Conservation Area for a winter hike.

Daniel showed up in beat-up runners and, to Hannah’s surprise, somehow managed to keep up with her blazing pace (despite taking a tumble after trying to smoothly slide down a large, icy hill). During the hike and the coffee date that followed shortly after, they found they had many things in common, like a shared love of fantasy and goofy sense of humour, and have been inseparable ever since.

Two years later on April 10th, Daniel proposed to Hannah on a rooftop overlooking a nighttime view of Darling Harbour in Sydney, Australia.

Ceremony & reception

We’ll say our vows outdoors, then celebrate the evening together a short drive away. Arrival details for each location are below.

Ceremony

Silver Harbour Conservation Area

Outdoor ceremony · please plan for uneven ground and weather

We’ll exchange vows in a quiet clearing next to the lake. The ground may be uneven and soft, so pleaase plan your footwear according (ladies, this means heels may not be ideal). Our ceremony is taking place outdoors, so pleaase plan for wet weather as required.

Parking may be limited, so we recommend arriving early and allowing extra time. If possible, sharing a ride with others is always appreciated.

After the ceremony, join us at Valhalla for dinner, speeches, and dancing. We'll have a full Open Bar, live music, and a chance to dance the night away in a private ballroom.

If you’re attending both, allow time to travel between the conservation area and the reception venue. Cocktail hour will begin at 5:00 PM.

Parking is available on site, but we recommend arriving early and allowing extra time.

Travel & Stay

Stay at Valhalla & plan your trip

We’ve reserved a room block at our reception venue so out-of-town guests can stay close to the celebration—especially if you’re flying in for the weekend.

Rooms at Valhalla

We’ve held 20 rooms at Valhalla at a preferred group rate for our guests. Staying on-site means you’ll be steps from dinner and dancing, with no extra drive after the reception—something we especially hope will help friends and family traveling from out of town.

Booking details and any group code will be shared in your invitation or by email—please reference the Hannah & Daniel wedding when you call or book online.

Flying in

Most out-of-town guests will arrive at Thunder Bay International Airport (YQT), about a 5-10 minute drive from Valhalla. Airport shuttle services are available. If you’re flying, we recommend booking ground transport ahead of time—rental car or rideshare—so you can move easily between the ceremony, Valhalla, and your hotel.

Please allow enough time on the wedding day to travel from the ceremony at Silver Harbour Conservation to the reception at Valhalla; you can refer to our wedding day timeline for more information.

Driving & regional travel

If you’re driving from elsewhere in Ontario or neighbouring provinces, please plan for highwaydelays. Parking information for both the ceremony and reception can be found in the venues section.

If Valhalla’s room block fills before you book, please reach out to us—we’re happy to suggest nearby options so you still have a comfortable place to stay.

Dress Code

Semi-formal, comfortable, and celebration-ready

We invite guests to dress in semi-formal attire—something polished yet comfortable for a full day of celebration. Think dresses, dressy tops, button-down shirts, and slacks or suits.

Our ceremony will take place outdoors at Silver Harbour, so we recommend choosing footwear suitable for natural terrain and considering light layers for the season.

  • Comfortable, outdoor-friendly shoes are recommended
  • Light layers for changing temperatures
  • Dress for both a ceremony and an evening reception
  • Respectfully avoid white, ivory, or champagne
  • Most importantly—come ready to celebrate with us
